Interviewing Adam Lasek, a Coach at a Gym

One of my uncles, Adam, is a coach at his local gym in Des Plaines, Illinois. I gave him a call and asked him some questions related to his job. Give the interview a read below!

Me: Why did you become a coach?

Adam: For a few years now, I have been very passionate about fitness and what it entails. If you do not already know, working out can make you physically and mentally stronger, which is something I lacked. Going to the gym brought me out of a negative mindset I had some time ago. I wanted to be help people find the light in life just as I did through fitness.

Me: What is some advice you would give to someone who wants to start going to the gym but is scared?

Adam: Everyone is nervous going to the gym for the first time, because it is new and unfamiliar territory. Try to remind yourself that everyone is there for themselves and only themselves, so other people are not paying attention to you. Be more positive, for example congratulate yourself for getting up and going to the gym in the first place.

Me: What is your favorite part about being a coach?

Adam: Personally, I love the social aspect of it. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing about their fitness journeys. It makes me happy knowing the gym brought so many of us together.

Me: What is your definition of a healthy lifestyle?

Adam: To me, a healthy lifestyle consists of exercising, a good diet, meditating, staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, and surrounding yourself with positive people. I believe these 6 aspects are the most important to follow if someone is looking to change their lifestyle to be more productive.
