Is Cardio Really Needed After Weightlifting?
If you would have asked me the question, "Is Cardio Really Needed After Weightlifting?" 1 year ago today, I would have said no. Many people now would agree with my past answer. Thankfully, I was able to expand my fitness knowledge over this past year, which is why my answer now would be YES. Being truthfully honest, I never liked cardio. It was my least favorite type of exercise. Now, I run 3 times a week on the treadmill, which equals to about 3 miles a week. Don't get me wrong, their is times I dread getting on the treadmill after my workout, but it always ends up making me feel amazing after, which is why I do it. It really is a love hate relationship. Doing cardio is so beneficial, or any time of conditioning for that matter. It can help you increase your heart and cardiovascular health, lower your blood pressure, lose weight, and more. The first few weeks of performing cardio is HARD, but after those weeks you get used to it. It is not a struggle anymore. I urge you all to try it out! You can start out slowly by only running a mile the first week, then the second week you can run 2, and so on and so forth. Remember you can also make cardio fun! Go swimming for an hour or take a zumba class! Make it enjoyable for yourself.
